- Requirements to Book Rent A Car with Driver Service in Dubai

A standard chauffeured booking in Dubai needs four things: a pickup address, a date and time, a contactable mobile number, and the flight number if the journey starts at an airport. That is the complete list. No driving licence, no International Driving Permit, no Emirates ID, no passport copy and no security deposit, because a chauffeur is driving and you are a passenger.
What changes the list is the situation, and not the person. A tourist and a resident need exactly the same four things. But booking on somebody else’s behalf, running a corporate account, travelling with children, crossing a border or paying by cash each add something specific. White Line Limousine LLC has taken these bookings since 2011, and below is what each situation genuinely adds.
Everything else in this guide is an addition to the list below, so it is worth being precise about what the baseline actually is before anything gets added to it.
A pickup address, as specific as you can make it. A tower name beats a district, and an entrance beats a tower. At a hotel, say whether you want the main entrance or the lower ground pickup point.
A date, a start time and a rough duration. Five hours or ten, or a single journey if you will not need the car again.
A mobile number the chauffeur can reach on arrival, ideally one working on a UAE network.
A flight number if the booking starts at an airport. Send the number instead of an estimated landing time, because the number is what lets the aircraft be tracked. Airport arrivals carry sixty minutes of free waiting from the updated landing time, so a delay moves your pickup instead of consuming it.
That is it. Our rent a car with driver services in Dubai carries the fleet and the published rates, and the booking opens on those four details alone.
This is a common arrangement, and it is the one situation where the details that matter most are precisely the ones people forget to supply.
Assistants book for executives, hotels book for guests, and relatives book for arriving family. The booking works perfectly well that way, with two things settled in advance.
Whose number does the chauffeur call? The passenger’s, nearly always. A chauffeur holding the booker’s number and standing in an arrivals hall is holding the wrong number. Give both if you want the confirmation sent to one and the call made to the other.
Who receives the confirmation and who settles the account? Every booking, change and cancellation generates a confirmation email, and that goes wherever you tell us. If the passenger should not see the rate, say so.
Does the passenger know the arrangement? It sounds obvious. It is also the single most common cause of a passenger walking past a waiting chauffeur, and an airport meet and greet removes the problem entirely when the passenger has never met the driver.
Here is the correction that matters most on this page, because an earlier version of it had the sequence backwards and the difference is worth setting out carefully.
Identity validation attaches to the payment method, never to the booking itself. Our terms and conditions accept American Express, Mastercard, Visa and PayTabs. They also accept cash or cheque, and in that case against an authorised credit card guarantee with identity validation.
So the sequence is the other way round from how it is usually described. Nobody asks you for documents so that you can be allowed to book. If you choose to settle a booking in cash or by cheque, a card guarantee and identity validation come with that choice.
Pay by card and the question never arises. No deposit is taken, no amount is blocked or frozen, and no document is requested. The earlier version of this page described companies holding an amount on a credit card before every booking, which is a self-drive rental practice and not a chauffeured one.
A business booking does need more than a personal one, and every additional item is commercial instead of regulatory, which is the distinction worth holding onto.
The billing entity and its details, since the invoice has to name the right company.
Who is authorised to book, because an account with one approved booker behaves very differently from one with twelve.
How you want journeys grouped on the invoice, by passenger, by cost centre, by month or by project. Settling this at the start saves a reconciliation argument later.
Whether rates are fixed for a period, which matters for a budget you have already committed to.
How changes are handled, since a short-notice amendment is treated as a new booking alongside the original, and a company running many bookings a month wants that understood before it happens rather than afterwards.
Our corporate chauffeur service covers the structure. None of it involves a licence, a deposit or an identity document for any passenger, and the passengers themselves supply nothing beyond the standard four details.
There is one genuine prerequisite in this situation, it applies before the vehicle leaves the yard, and it is a legal requirement rather than a preference.
Give the age of each child at the booking stage. A child seat has to be fitted before the vehicle leaves, which means we need the age in advance and not at the kerb. Under UAE traffic rules, a child under four requires a child safety seat, and the penalty for travelling without one is AED 400 and four black points charged to the driver.
Child seats carry no charge and are arranged with twenty-four hours of notice.
Give the bag count alongside the passenger count, because seats and luggage capacity do not rise together across a fleet. A family of six with six cases and a pushchair needs a different vehicle from a family of six travelling light, and the Citroen Spacetourer at six passengers and seven bags exists for exactly that gap.
This is the only situation in which passengers genuinely need travel documents, and the reason is simple: you are leaving the country.
On a chauffeured run into Saudi Arabia or the Dubai to Muscat route, every passenger needs a valid passport and the correct visa for the destination. The vehicle and driver documentation also has to be in order, which takes time.
Raise a cross-border trip days ahead, and treat the written confirmation as the point at which it is booked, instead of the enquiry. Visa requirements depend on your nationality and your residency status, so confirm yours with the destination’s own authority instead of relying on any article, this one included.
Inside the UAE none of this applies. A run to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah is an ordinary booking on the four standard details.
These are the questions that come up most often, and three of them exist only because self-drive rental requirements keep getting attached to a service that has none of them.
No. A chauffeur drives, so your licence status has no bearing on the booking. A licence, an International Driving Permit and an Emirates ID are all self-drive rental requirements.
No. Nothing is collected at booking and nothing is blocked on your card. The vehicle stays with our chauffeur, so there is no asset to secure against.
No. Both need the same four details. Residency makes a difference to licence exchange and to self-drive hire, and no difference at all to being a passenger.
Only if you choose to settle by cash or cheque, which is accepted against an authorised credit card guarantee with identity validation. Paying by card removes the question.
Yes, routinely. Make sure the chauffeur has the passenger’s mobile number instead of the booker’s, and tell us where the confirmation email should go.
The age, given at the booking stage so the seat is fitted before the vehicle leaves. Seats are free with twenty-four hours of notice, and a child under four requires one by law.
A valid passport and the correct visa for every passenger, plus enough notice for the vehicle and driver documentation. Confirm your own visa position with the destination authority.
Send the pickup address with the building and entrance, the destination, the date and start time, roughly how long you need the car, and the passenger and bag counts. Add the flight number for an airport pickup and the age of any child travelling.
If the booking is for somebody else, give us their mobile number and tell us where the confirmation should go. If it is a corporate account, tell us the billing entity and who is authorised to book. If it crosses a border, tell us now and not next week.
Rates include the chauffeur, the fuel, the Salik tolls, the insurance, the VAT and the parking, with airport parking as the only exclusion. Call +971 4 385 8433, email booking@wllimo.com, or book through the website.
